Rain
Days
Classes will be cancelled due to
rain 30 minutes prior to class. Please call if you are not at home at
this time. Make ups will be held on Friday at regular class time. If it
rains for more than 2 days during your two week session then we will do
make up classes on Saturday.

It
is MANDATORY that parents equip ALL non-potty trained children (learners,
too) in Permanent Swim Diapers, as accidents in the pool can be a very
costly event. DO NOT SUBSTITUTE: plastic training pants, disposable
swim diapers, regular diapers of any kind. Use ONLY the Swim Diapers that
are available at the Leaps & Bounds Croaker's Cove Gift Shop or the
IDENTICAL brand from elsewhere. Also available for our swimmers
at the Croaker's Cove Gift Shop: goggles, water toys, gym bags and more!
Just
You and Me Kid
A
great way to spend time and learn together. For your child, the Tadpole
Training Just You & Me Kid classes are pure fun. And for you, JY&MK
classes are a wonderful way to take advantage of the unique manner in
which water has of strengthening relationships. And for us
well,
we know Tadpole Training Just You & Me Kid classes are a wonderful
way to help your child, at a young age, associate water with pleasure
and fun (rather than fear and anxiety), in order to develop a life-long
love and respect of the water.
Note:
Your child should register for Group classes after celebrating their third
birthday. Rare exception: Parents of children, 30 months of age (not 29
months) who naturally LOVE the water and are eager to separate from MOM
or DAD may speak with the Tadpole Training Director about registering
for a Group class. With youngsters, it a wise rule of thumb: go slow,
don't push.
PARENTAL
ADVISORY: PLEASE READ AND HEED
- Relax.
When confronted with fearful situations, children tend to collapse emotionally
in the presence of their parents. As difficult as it is to accept, in
stressful situations, children generally fare better when parents are
not available as a crutch. We are experienced in calming distressed
children and you can confidently leave your youngster in our hands and
exit the deck area.
- No
parents or siblings on the deck. We have a covered area for
your comfort, right outside our pool or you may go inside the building
and sit in the parents area. As children do better when they are not
observed, we only allow observation for the last 5 minutes of each class
and for the entire time on the last day of the session.
- Please
respect our age groupings.
In our competitive USA culture, the impulse to 'fudge age groups' is
powerful. Please resist the seduction of 'fast-tracking'. Seventeen
years of experience with thousands and thousands of youngsters has taught
us that the potentially negative learning attitudes caused by 'pressures
to learn' as a youngster don't manifest themselves until later years.
By the time your child is in Jr. high school, he/she will either 'love
to learn' or will be 'anxious about learning', displaying an "I
can't" attitude or an apathetic, "I don't care" attitude.
So be wise: in these early years especially before 2nd grade, please
allow your youngster to learn in a relaxed atmosphere.
- Our
small, 4:1 ratio exists for one reason-
to provide a unique and exceptional swim experience for your child.
However, there is a downside to our small ratios: it limits the number
of students we are able to accept and favorite classes fill up quickly.
Sooo
to avoid being booked out of a class, please familiarize
yourself with the registration information in our 'How to' Handbook.
