Mrs. Daren has been teaching dance and cheerleading for over 20 years and is happy to share her expertise of breaking down dances and making them fun.

Programs Offered

Magical Movement- designed for 2 ½ to 4 year olds. They will explore dance movement and engage their imagination. Ballet is a beautiful style of dance and we teach it by making it fun. Teaching a preschooler to "plie" at the barre is boring…..we add a hula hoop and make it fun. Tap is also a lot of fun and awesome at teaching rhythm and counting skills.

Cheer Dance-designed to add that extra "pow" to dance routines used in cheerleading and regular routines. Dances taught in this class are guaranteed safe to show to mom and dad without the worry of not so "nice" moves. To keep students up to date on the latest, we break down the steps of a popular dance from a video in class or clinics. 2nd graders and up are welcome. Previous cheer and/or dance experience is not necessary.

Break It Down Clinics are scheduled throughout the year. Be sure to check back often and join us for a one day clinic to sharpen up your skills. Clinics are also available for school dance teams as well. Check with the front desk to schedule your clinic.

Performance opportunities are always available and optional. We participate in local festivals, parades, malls, and Zippity Zoo Day at the Baton Rouge Zoo. We encourage students to continue to enroll in all terms throughout the year so they can participate in our annual gym wide performance, "Victory Games." Victory Games is friendlier on the wallet than a recital and just as exciting, entertaining and fulfilling to watch. Costumes are worn…..and rewards are given out…… Victory Games are usually held before the end of the school year, so stick with us and see what a year of dance can do.

Program Information

What To Wear Magical Movement students are encouraged to wear a black leotard and pink tights. They will need a pair of ballet shoes, tap shoes, and a bag to keep it all in during class. You are welcome to bundle them up in cold weather over their dance clothes. Cheer Dance students are encouraged to wear a leotard with jazz pants….these fit to form and flair below the knees. Standard sneakers or jazz sneakers are preferred. Hair should be pulled back off the face in a bun or ponytail.
